The Novel Refuge (TNR) is a local non-profit bookstore that sells new and donated books, games, and puzzles for children and adults. All profits support refugee and asylum resettlement. The well-organized store fully staffed by volunteers is located in the Cherry Tree Shopping Center off of Rt. 216 near Maple Lawn.
Friendly, service-oriented volunteers are needed on weekends for a 3-hour shift. Volunteers commit to two 3-hour shifts per month. Duties include customer engagement, sale transactions, book organization by genre, and shelf restocking. Individuals should be able to lift 10 lbs. There is an orientation prior to starting. It is fun and rewarding.
