The High Holidays are fast approaching and as in years past, Bet Aviv will be sponsoring a food drive to benefit the Howard County Food Bank. As you exit services on Rosh Hashanah morning (September 30th), you will be given an empty paper bag and will be asked to bring it back on Yom Kippur morning (October 9th) filled with non-perishable food items (heavy on protein). The truck from the Food Bank will arrive at the Meeting House prior to services (the truck will be available from 9:15AM to 10:15AM) so you can drop off your bags of food as you are entering the Meeting House for morning services. Last year, Bet Aviv and Kol Nefesh members donated over 2500 pounds of food that went to the less fortunate in Howard County. In addition, an envelope will be stapled to the bag in which you can send a monetary donation directly to Mazon. Please remember that the Food Bank cannot accept food that is expired, so please check expiration dates of all food that is donated. We thank you for your generosity in helping the less fortunate in Howard County.
