This year we are privileged and honored to have 3 local storytellers each telling the story of their family members…IN FIRST PERSON...
Did you ever listen to someone telling a story and think that you are hearing the voice of the person or people about whom they are speaking?
The storyteller captures the essence of that person and are the keepers of their memory. When you listen to them, you actually visualize and connect to the personal stories.
That’s what Teach The Shoah is all about.
Teach The Shoah is an international organization that challenges ignorance and hate by telling testimony based stories to build personal connections to stories and lessons of the Holocaust.
Teach The Shoah…Telling The Stories Of The Holocaust To Keep The Memories Alive is the theme for this year’s Holocaust Memorial Service in Howard County on Monday evening April 13th beginning at 7:00pm.
Our presenters will be 2nd, 3rd and 4th generation descendants of Holocaust survivors. They will each be telling the story of their loved one in first person.
Dylan, a 4th generation survivor telling the story of his great grandmother and her experiences during the Holocaust.
We will also be hearing from Alison, a 3rd generation survivor relaying the story of her grandmother.
In addition, Dr. David Halpern, a 2nd generation survivor will tell the story of his mother’s fight for survival.
