Rabbi Linda Joseph will be representing the Jewish community of Maryland in Annapolis on Saturday August 26th at the Maryland Commemoration of the 60th anniversary of the March on Washington. She will be one of the interfaith speakers for the noon program at Susan B. Campbell Park.
The Caucus of African American Leaders (CAAL) has been an active community organization at the forefront of human and civil rights and social and racial justice for over ten years. This year, CAAL is planning a commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the August, 1963 March on Washington in our state’s capital.
This two-day community event will include a reenactment of the March and its program Saturday, August 26 followed by a worship service Sunday, August 27th. The theme for this event is ” Together We Can Be the Dream as We Commemorate, Educate, Activate.”
Saturday’s March will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, followed by a program at Susan B. Campbell Park on the City dock. Sunday’s worship service will be held at Fresh Start Church in Glen Burnie from 3 – 5 p.m.
