Celebrate Sustainability at Oakland Mills Interfaith GREEN Spring Fling: Environmental Fun for the Whole Family 

(Columbia, Maryland – May 5, 2024) Get ready for a day of eco-friendly festivities at the Oakland Mills Interfaith Green Spring Fling! Hosted by the Oakland Mills Interfaith (OMI) Green Team, this event promises a day filled with environmental education, hands-on activities, and entertainment for all ages. 

Date: Sunday, May 5, 2024 

Time: 12:30 PM – 4:00 PM 

Location: Oakland Mills Interfaith aka The Meeting House, 5885 Robert Oliver Place, Columbia, 21045 

Expected Audience: 350 plus 

The OMI Green Spring Fling offers something for everyone: 

• Free Native Perennial Plants: Be one of the first 400 people aged 2 and up to register and receive a free native perennial plant, courtesy of our sponsors.

• Make Mother’s Day Cards: Get crafty and create heartfelt Mother’s Day cards using recycled materials. 
• Rain Barrel Workshop: Come learn from Watershed Stewards how to build and install your own rain barrel! Sign up at omigreenteam@gmail.com very limited number of free barrels for Howard County residents to pickup. Workshops at 1 and 2 PM 
• Informational Booths and Kids Activities: Learn about sustainable living practices and participate in fun activities designed to inspire environmental stewardship. 
• Live Animals & Environmental Art Exhibit: Get up close and personal with live animals and explore captivating environmental art installations. 
• Electric Vehicle “Frunk” Show: Discover the latest in electric vehicle technology and explore the innovative features of electric cars, including the “frunk” (front trunk). 
• Stormwater/Rain Garden Tours: Take a guided tour and learn how stormwater management practices can help protect our local waterways. 
• Bring Cash for Food Vendor and a Reusable Water Bottle: Support local vendors offering delicious, sustainable food options, and don’t forget to stay hydrated with your reusable water bottle. 
• Interfaith Choir performance of earth centered songs at 3 PM 
• And much, much more!
