Exhibition Details
Exhibits and program are appropriate for middle school and older students, and adults of all ages.
The exhibition curates works by 25 artists whose creative activity reflects the atrocious times Israeli society is facing since October 7th. Some of them are living artists, some deceased – either murdered on October 7th or died during the ongoing war, while others are residents (or former residents) of the southern areas, who suffered the loss of their loved ones, their homes, or whose families were affected by the horrors of the massacre.
Guest Speaker
Norman Goldstein is the great uncle of Hersh Goldberg-Polin. Hersh was an American citizen taken hostage on October 7th, while attending the Nova Music Festival. He was murdered by Hamas after 11 months in captivity. His body was recovered on August 31st along with the remains of five other hostages in a tunnel under the city of Rafah in Gaza.
Norman Goldstein served as the president of the Jewish Council for the Aging from 2018 – 2020. He is a retired federal attorney who served in multiple legal positions. He has been president of the Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School, the Jewish Community Relations Council of Greater Washington, and Ohr Kodesh Congregation. He is a founding member of the N Street Village and was chairman of the Consumer Council of the State of Maryland.
For security reasons, registration is required. There is no fee to attend.
Please note: there will be a video played from 5:30 pm – 6:45 pm in a walled off area of the exhibit. It features some graphic content.
